Terms of Use for Closer

These Terms of Use explain the rules for using Closer, a mobile app that helps people build a small daily ritual around one question, private circles, and shared answers.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, signing in, joining a circle, or using Closer, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use Closer.

2. Who can use Closer

Closer is not intended for children under 13. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you should use Closer only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for providing accurate account information and keeping your sign-in method secure.

3. Your account and circles

Closer lets users create and join private circles. A circle may include a partner, family members, parents, children, siblings, or other trusted people.

You are responsible for the invitations you send and for making sure you only invite people who are allowed and willing to join your circle.

We may limit the number of circles, members, invitations, questions, answers, or other features depending on the version of Closer you use.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the answers, names, feedback, and other content you choose to provide in Closer.

By submitting content, you give Closer permission to store, process, display, and share that content as needed to provide the app. For example, your answer may be shown to other members of the same circle when the reveal rules are met.

You should not submit content that violates the rights of others, breaks the law, threatens others, harasses others, or intentionally disrupts the app.

5. Private answers and reveal rules

Closer is designed around private answers that may become visible to other circle members according to the reveal rules shown in the app.

You understand that once an answer is revealed to another circle member, that person may be able to read, remember, copy, or screenshot it outside Closer.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Closer for unlawful, abusive, or harmful purposes;
• try to access another person's account or private circle without permission;
• interfere with the security, availability, or normal operation of Closer;
• reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the app or backend services;
• use Closer to send spam, unwanted invitations, or misleading messages.

7. Relationship and wellbeing content

Closer provides questions and prompts for personal reflection and everyday conversations. Closer does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or professional advice.

If you need urgent help or feel unsafe, contact local emergency services or a trusted person near you.

8. Free and paid features

Closer may offer free and paid features. Paid features, prices, renewal terms, trials, cancellations, and refunds may be shown in the app or handled by the app store where you purchased them.

If subscriptions or in-app purchases are offered, your purchase may also be subject to the terms and billing rules of Apple App Store or Google Play.

9. Service changes and availability

We may update, improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue parts of Closer at any time. We try to keep the app reliable, but we do not guarantee that Closer will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

10. Account deletion

You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at support@closertogether.app. We may ask you to verify your account before processing the request.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Closer is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties that are not expressly stated in these terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Closer and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may notify you in the app or by other reasonable means.
